Commenting allows users to collaborate as they complete a variance report. Comments do not show up in the exported variance report, so this is where you can ask questions and get clarification about specific accounts or variance notes. The Comment Pane is opened by clicking on the blue comment button.
Comments are specific to the Report being viewed and are only available at the property level. Comments from prior periods will be visible for specific accounts via the Account History Modal, but will not show up in the comment drawer for the report being viewed.
Users can mention other users by typing the "@" symbol.
When a user is mentioned, they will get a notification in Waypoint that can be seen by clicking the notification bell located in the top bar of the application. Clicking the notification will navigate you to the variance report where you were mentioned and will open the comment drawer to the comment where you were mentioned.
Users can also mention specific GL Accounts by typing the "#" symbol or selecting the "Comment" option in the action menu in each row of the income statement.

This is accomplished by clicking the "Resolve" button located under the comment. If additional questions arise, resolved comments can be unresolved by clicking the button that now says "Unresolve".
If you only want to focus on Unresolved comments, you can filter out the Resolved comments by clicking the "Hide Resolved" toggle as shown below.
